Job description

DHL Express currently has an opening for a Casual Warehouse Associate in their Halifax, NS location. This is an on-call position offering $20.72/hour with increases as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Responsibilities

• Scan freight as per agreed procedures
• Organize and sort all freight to appropriate routes
• Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
• Accurately sort and process inbound material by deadlines
• Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
• Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area
• Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment
• Perform Front Counter Duties
• Perform HIC duties
• Perform accurate reporting
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Meet security requirements
• Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions
• High School Diploma
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence is an asset
