Job summary

Red Deer Public Schools is seeking casual labourers to support general maintenance and operations across its schools in Red Deer.

Successful candidates must be available on short notice, including early mornings, Monday through Friday, and be able to haul, move materials, and assist with snow and ice removal at school entrances, including hand shovelling and sanding.

Applicants must have access to a reliable vehicle and hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Casual Labourers

Candidates must be available to work on short notice, including early mornings, Monday through Friday, to assist with a variety of general labourer duties. Duties may include hauling, moving materials, and seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal around school entrances, including hand shovelling and sanding.

Hours and duties will vary based on operational needs.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Previous experience in general labour, maintenance, or snow removal at commercial properties would be an asset.
• Candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle and hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
• Good physical stamina is required, as the work involves active physical movement and may include lifting, carrying, hauling, and shovelling.
• Flexibility and the ability to respond to changing priorities and short-notice requests are essential.

This competition will remain open until suitable candidates are found, but will not close prior to November 6, 2026.
