Job summary

Superior-Greenstone District School Board is seeking casual relief and call-in custodians for the Greenstone area, specifically Marjorie Mills Public School. The role focuses on snow removal, sanding, and salting to keep surfaces safe and accessible during winter.

Applicants must hold a valid G driver's licence and have 1 year of heavy equipment or plow experience. Availability for early mornings, Monday to Friday, is essential, with on-call duties during heavy snowfall. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Valid G Driver's Licence.
• Minimum 1yr relevant experience operating heavy equipment and/or truck and plow preferred.
• Physical ability to carry out the requirements of the job.
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work and be available on call during winter months.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Able to problem solve. Mechanical knowledge an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

snow removal, sanding and salting the property.

Applicant must be available early mornings, Monday to Friday during the winter months for precipitation events.

Snow clearing services will be performed multiple times during a single snowfall event, depending on the intensity and duration of the precipitation. The frequency of service will be influenced by accumulation rates, weather forecasts, and the need to maintain safe and accessible surfaces. Additional clearing may be necessary during prolonged or heavy snowfall to ensure continued access and minimize hazards.
