Job summary

Westerner Park in Red Deer, AB, is seeking reliable General Service Employees to support our Event Delivery team. These casual, as-needed positions perform event setup and teardown, janitorial tasks, grounds and light maintenance, and operate equipment to help deliver year-round events.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, you will help keep spaces clean, safe, and guest-ready, with flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Reliable and dependable with a strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and quality.
• Comfortable performing physically active work (standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling).
• Experience in janitorial, event setup, or grounds maintenance is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and dismantle event spaces indoors and outdoors.
• Complete event cleanup and janitorial duties before, during, and after events (washrooms, floors, public areas, rooms, pavilions).
• Open and close facilities and grounds as required.
• Operate equipment and machinery as trained and authorized.
• Report maintenance, safety, and facility concerns to the supervisor.
• Adapt to changing event requirements and perform related duties.
