Job summary

Active Start Childcare is seeking a Casual Educator at our Harvest Hills location in Edmonton. The candidate should be fluent in English, with a strong understanding of child development and exceptional engagement skills. The role is on-call with shifts 1-4 per week, requiring availability on multiple days.

Experience is advantageous; Alberta Child Care certification levels 1–3 or willingness to obtain them is required, along with a current criminal record check and First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
• Alberta Child Care certification levels 1–3 or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Prior childcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging programming tailored to children’s interests and needs.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the environment.
• Lead and support children in integrated learning and recreational activities.
• Actively supervise and engage with children to ensure well-being.
• Cultivate positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Adhere to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and center policies.
