Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Canada is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant to work alongside teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care.

Responsibilities include assisting RECEs, maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children, interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities, and establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.

Qualifications

• High School/Equivalent required; Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR recommended/required per local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist RECEs with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe and organized environment for children.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Collaborate with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Pay Range: $17.60 - $18.00 per hour, Government Wage Enhancement offered on top of hourly rate for Full-Time staff

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting RECE's with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification preferred
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
