Job summary

Karis Disability Services seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities and community participation. You will collaborate with families, advocates, and partners to promote self-determination and meaningful engagement.

Qualifications

• Valid Sask. Class 5 or Sask. Novice 2 driver's license
• Access to reliable transportation
• Satisfactory Driver's Abstract

• Assist with activities of daily living in collaboration with families, advocates, friends and community partners
• Promote self-determination and encourage growth and development for individuals with developmental disabilities
• Support individuals to participate fully in their communities and build relationships

Job description

The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts that include days, evenings, night-awakes, and weekends. Hours are dependent on the need to fill in on personal holidays, stat holidays, sick days, and any other vacancy, not to fill a permanent rotation in the schedule.

Requirements:

• Valid Sask. Class 5 or Sask. Novice 2 driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Preferred:

• 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field
