Job summary

City of Chilliwack is seeking two Building Service Worker with ticket casual positions in Recreation and Culture Department to support housekeeping, janitorial, and basic maintenance in municipal facilities. Qualifications

• Grade 10 education minimum and completed Building Services Worker course.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment used in building services.
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects; polite, diplomatic with the public.
• Understand verbal and written English and perform simple math.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and minor maintenance in and around municipal facilities.
• Strip and wax floors, sweep, dust, vacuum and mop.
• Clean washrooms and wash walls, doors and windows.
• Remove snow and ice from steps and walkways.
• Replace light bulbs and make minor repairs to equipment.
• Set up and dismantle equipment and facilities for events.
• Maintain security of buildings and assist the public politely.
