Job summary

The Root Cellar is hiring a Front-End Cashier in Victoria, BC. This role offers approximately 20 hours weekly with shifts including mid-day weekdays and weekends. You will handle tills, assist customers, and keep the area tidy, while learning about local, fresh foods.

Previous cash-handling retail experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person. A friendly attitude and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced market environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to exceed customer needs.
• Process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
• Bag customer purchases with care and maintain till integrity.
• Keep a clean and tidy work area and restock/replenish as needed.
• Attend to cleaning and replenishment of the floral area near the till.
• Remain aware of store products, changes, and seasonal requirements.
• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Perform a variety of cleaning tasks.
• Support the front-end team to ensure smooth operations.

We are currently seeking a Cashier passionate about customer service and great local food to join our Front-End Team! Previous experience in a cash-handling retail environment is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude.

• The ability to work a variety of shifts including mid-day weekdays and weekends, approximately 20 hours weekly.
• The ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for long periods of time, work in a cool environment, and lift up to 50lbs.
• The ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a busy environment.
• The ability to work well within a team.
• Previous retail/customer service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude!
