Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Bromont, QC is seeking a friendly cashier to join our team. This role involves scanning merchandise, keeping prices accurate, handling cash and payment cards, and balancing the cash register at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

• Experience with cash register systems is preferred.
• Experience in a similar cashier position helps performance.
• Good customer service skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Punch and/or scan merchandise selected by the customer.
• Ensure accuracy of prices punched/scanned and process cancellations as needed.
• Handle cash and cards (debit, checks, etc.) and deposit according to policies.
• Balance the cash register and meet productivity standards.

What might a typical day look like?

As a cashier, you will :

• punch and/or scan merchandise selected by the customer;
• ensure accuracy of prices punched/scanned and make cancellations according to established standards;
• handle cash and media (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies;
• ensure the balance of the cash register and respect the productivity standards (sales/hours, punching/minute)
