Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Longueuil is seeking a full-time cashier to manage POS transactions, operate the cash register, and provide friendly customer service on a day shift. The role involves handling cash and payments, scanning merchandise, and ensuring pricing accuracy in a fast-paced retail environment.

The position offers 35–40 hours per week with flexible possibilities and opportunities for skill development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience with cash register system and cash handling.
• Ability to punch/scan merchandise accurately.
• Strong customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Punch and/or scan merchandise selected by customers.
• Ensure price accuracy and process cancellations per standards.
• Handle cash, debit, cheques, and deposits according to policies.
• Balance cash register and meet productivity standards.

What might a typical day look like?

As a cashier, you will :

• punch and/or scan merchandise selected by the customer;
• ensure accuracy of prices punched/scanned and make cancellations according to established standards;
• handle cash and media (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies;
• ensure the balance of the cash register and respect the productivity standards (sales/hours, punching/minute)
