The YMCA StepForward: Care Careers for Refugees program supports refugees in obtaining sustainable employment in the care sector. Through a participant-centred case management approach, the program combines employment preparation, occupation-specific language support, workplace placements, employer engagement, and employment retention support.
The Case Manager works directly with participants from intake through employment placement, while coordinating wraparound supports that address settlement and employment barriers. The position also supports outreach, participant recruitment, employer engagement, workshop facilitation, and program evaluation.
