YMCA BC in Vancouver is hiring a Case Manager to coordinate intake, assessments, and placement for refugees in the StepForward program. You will deliver workshops, support workplace placements, and liaise with employers and community partners to address settlement barriers.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, participant-centered service delivery and requires strong facilitation and case-management skills within a collaborative team.

Formación

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in employment, settlement, newcomer, or social services.
  • Experience supporting refugees, newcomers, or diverse populations preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, employer engagement, and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and labour market trends.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and client management systems.
  • 3 satisfactory references required.
  • Criminal Record check with Vulnerable sector search issued within 6 months of start date.

Nature & Scope

The YMCA StepForward: Care Careers for Refugees program supports refugees in obtaining sustainable employment in the care sector. Through a participant-centred case management approach, the program combines employment preparation, occupation-specific language support, workplace placements, employer engagement, and employment retention support.

The Case Manager works directly with participants from intake through employment placement, while coordinating wraparound supports that address settlement and employment barriers. The position also supports outreach, participant recruitment, employer engagement, workshop facilitation, and program evaluation.

Major Responsibilities - in this position, you will:

Qualification - you bring:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in employment, settlement, newcomer, or social services.
  • Experience supporting refugees, newcomers, or diverse populations preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, employer engagement, and case management skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and labour market trends.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and client management systems.
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
