Job summary

Bird Nason Contracting Group is seeking local Journeyperson Carpenters for work on P3 school projects in Edmonton, AB. You will join a project team building modern K-12 learning spaces from the ground up, reading blueprints, cutting and installing forms, framing and interior components.

Responsibilities include applying safety procedures, cooperating with supervisors and trades, maintaining a clean site, and delivering quality work on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyperson certificate in Carpentry.
  • CSTS 2020.
  • WHMIS 2015.
  • ESC Fall Protection + Aerial Work Platform.
  • Working at Heights.
  • Ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs.
  • Must be organized, self-driven, and able to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Constructing and installing concrete formwork for foundations, grade beams, walls, columns, and structural elements.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to ensure work is completed accurately.
  • Building and installing wood and metal framing for classrooms, administrative areas, gymnasiums, and common spaces.
  • Assisting with the installation of doors, hardware, backing, blocking, and other interior and exterior building components.
  • Performing layout work and ensuring construction meets project tolerances and quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with project supervisors, trades, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules.
  • Following all safety procedures and participating in daily hazard assessments and toolbox talks.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area while contributing to a productive and team-oriented job site.

Nason Contracting Group Ltd. is currently seeking localJourneyperson Carpenters for work at our on our P3 school projects in Edmonton, AB:

  • Schedule Rotation: Monday - Friday

  • Start Date: Sept 14, 2026

What You Will Be Working On

As a Carpenter, you'll play a key role in the construction of new K-12 schools from the ground up. Working alongside a skilled project team, you'll be involved in every stage of the build, helping create modern learning spaces that will serve students and communities for years to come.

What We Are Looking For

  • Valid Journeyperson certificate in the trade of Carpentry
  • CSTS 2020
  • WHMIS 2015
  • ESC Fall Protection + Arial Work Platform
  • Working at Heights
  • Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
  • The ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs
  • Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
