Job summary

Bird Nason Contracting Group is seeking local General Labourers for our fabrication shop in Nisku, AB. The role supports yard operations and shipping/logistics, with a Monday–Friday schedule and benefits as per the collective agreement.

Ideal candidates are safety-conscious, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and organized. Training is provided, and opportunities to advance within the firm exist for motivated individuals.

Qualifications

• CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 certifications are required.
• Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to lift, carry and handle up to 50 lbs.
• Must be organized, self-driven, and able to understand and follow oral/written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and trailers; manage materials.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday

What You Will Be Working On

Yard Operations

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard.
• Organize materials, equipment, and fabrication components within the yard.
• Remove debris, scrap materials, and packaging waste.
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal site maintenance.
• Support yard layout and planning.

Shipping & Logistics Support

• Assist with loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
• Prepare shipping materials, dunnage, and rigging equipment.
• Assist with shipment inspections before transport.
• Move materials and fabrication components using forklifts and other equipment when authorized.
• Support inventory counts and material tracking.
• Ensure material storage areas are organized and accessible.
• Deliver materials and consumables to production areas as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
• The ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs
• Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
