Job summary

G&G Construction is seeking an on-site carpenter with 1–2 years of experience to read blueprints, prepare layouts, and perform wood framing and finishing tasks at a project site in Canada. You will measure, cut, assemble, and install components, while ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

The role includes supervising workers and contributing to the renovation and construction of residences and wooden structures across sites.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related experience
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and drawings
• On-site construction experience

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Supervise other workers
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
