Job summary

Kibbi Technologies Inc. is hiring an experienced carpenter to work on-site in Abbotsford, BC. The role involves reading blueprints, framing structures, measuring and cutting to build foundations, walls, and roofs, and installing windows, doors, and finishes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in carpentry, a high school diploma, and safety training such as WHMIS and fall arrest. Relocation costs are covered; on-site work is required at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2+ years in carpentry or related field.
• Ability to read plans and work to building codes.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts using measuring tools to conform to codes.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes, and steel components.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, subflooring, walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TASKS

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, woodsubstitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls androof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills,mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
