Job summary

GWC General Contractors in Canada is seeking a skilled carpenter for on-site work in the Waterloo region. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, and install building components according to code.

The role requires 1-2 years of experience, willingness to relocate/travel for projects, and ability to supervise apprentices. Health benefits are provided; on-site work with no remote option.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
• Supervise apprentices and bench workers.
• Prepare cost estimates.
