Job summary

Kibbi Technologies Inc. in Surrey, BC, seeks an apprentice or junior carpenter to support residential and light industrial projects. The role involves reading blueprints, cutting and assembling timber, and installing components on site.

You’ll work with a small crew, gain hands-on experience with framing, floors, walls, and roofing, and help estimate materials and costs while ensuring compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient with measuring and layout per codes.
• Experience with wood framing and finishing.
• Ability to supervise crew on site.

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
