Job summary

Coastwide Contracting Inc is seeking a skilled carpenter to perform on-site work in Mississauga. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, measure and cut materials, and build floors, walls and roofs in line with building codes.

The role requires 1 year to less than 2 years of carpentry experience and a secondary school graduation certificate. This is a permanent, full-time position with varied shifts and on-site requirements in Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
