Job summary

Castone Construction Ltd is seeking a construction professional to work on-site with on-road travel and varying job sites. The role involves reading blueprints, preparing labour and material estimates, and coordinating activities with the crew.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience and a secondary school education. Proficiency in CAD/CADD tools and measuring techniques is expected, along with the ability to supervise apprentices.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• 1 year to less than 2 years of construction experience preferred.
• On-the-road travel and variable work locations are common.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials.
• Prepare tenders and quotations.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate work on sites.
• Survey building locations and levels.
• Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Operate CADD and other software systems.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures.
