Qualifications

• Two-year postsecondary diploma required.
• Three years of work experience in career guidance and counselling.
• Experience analyzing client needs and barriers.
• Travel to employer sites required; valid Ontario driver’s licence essential.
• Self-directed with ability to balance multiple tasks.
• Strong communication, judgment, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Team-oriented and able to work within a college environment.
• Experience working within the college system (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide information and referral, case management, employment planning, and job placement to Employment Options clients daily.
• Conduct intake interviews to determine eligibility and assess client needs.
• Complete documentation such as applications, service plans, and releases of information.
• Develop service plans clarifying vocational goals and steps to overcome barriers.
• Deliver workshops based on assessment results and client needs.
• Identify and negotiate career exploration opportunities and placement subsidies.
• Develop skills training plans with employers and maintain documentation.
• Monitor client progress, assist with problem solving, and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintain client-tracking systems and timely documentation, including follow-ups.
• Liaise with employers, government agencies, and community organizations; present to groups as required.
