Job summary

Algonquin College’s Community Employment Services seeks an Employment Consultant to assist job seekers in obtaining suitable employment. You will develop a case management plan, support pre-employment and life-stabilization services, and coordinate with employers to place clients in roles with ongoing support.

The role emphasizes case management, collaboration with partners, and data-driven follow-up over a 12-month placement period at Pembroke Campus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) year Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Employment/Career Counselling, Social Work or Human Resources, or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in employment advisement or career development guidance to a diverse client group including social assistance recipients or individuals with disabilities
  • This position is paid at Payband J

  • This position requires regular on-site work at Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide employment advising and develop Employment Action Plans with clients
  • Outreach to employers, match clients to job vacancies and discuss incentives
  • Maintain documentation and data management for client and employer interactions
  • Support and monitor clients for 12 months post-placement
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless service delivery
