Job summary

BGC East Scarborough is seeking an Employment Specialist to deliver Employment Ontario Integrated Employment Services (IES). You will conduct intake interviews, assess clients, and provide case management while supporting employers to meet their hiring needs.

The role emphasizes employment counselling, job development, and accurate record-keeping. Work is on-site in Toronto with a focus on diverse and vulnerable populations, maintaining high-volume caseloads and achieving performance targets

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in one of the Human Service Professions, Social work, or Employment Counselling.
• Demonstrated experience in employment and general counselling, knowledge of pre-employment support methods and labour market resources.
• Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Strong case management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct personalized one-to-one assessments to identify client skills, interests and aptitudes.
• Deliver EO-compliant intake, assessment and suitability determinations.
• Plan and run workshops on employment and labour market information.
• Develop and maintain employer relationships to support job development.
• Maintain thorough documentation and data entry to track client progress and outcomes.
