Job summary

Canadore College’s Employment Services team seeks a compassionate Employment Solutions Advisor to deliver personalized services to individuals facing barriers to employment. You will help clients access postsecondary education, build employment readiness, and secure meaningful work through case management.

This temporary full-time role at the North Bay College Drive Campus requires a 37.5-hour week, a 2-year diploma, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with community partners.

Qualifications

• 2-year Diploma in Social Services, HR, Business or related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant work experience in social services or employment support.
• Experience with client-centered service, case management and barrier resolution.
• Familiarity with employment services, postsecondary admissions, and community support systems.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team and community partners.
• In-person position – must commute to North Bay, ON.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake and needs assessments to develop individualized Employment Action Plans (EAPs)
• Identify and address barriers to employment and support clients in accessing appropriate community resources
• Refer clients to appropriate job opportunities and provide ongoing mentoring and support throughout the job search process
• Case manage clients from intake to job placement and retention, offering wraparound supports as needed
• Guide and support clients through career planning, job readiness, and training pathways
• Provide employment readiness services including resume development, interview preparation, job searching, and labour market navigation
• Maintain comprehensive and statistically relevant records in accordance with reporting requirements
