Job Overview

• Status: Contractor (MD or NP)
• Schedule: Casual
• Location: Thompson, Manitoba

What You’ll Do:

• Employee Health Assessments & Screening – Conduct pre‑employment and periodic medical examinations to assess workers’ fitness for duty and identify any health concerns related to their workplace roles.
• Occupational Injury & Illness Management – Diagnose, treat, and manage work‑related injuries and illnesses; provide appropriate medical care and documentation for workers’ compensation claims.
• Injury & Illness Management – Diagnose, treat, and manage non‑work‑related injuries and illnesses; provide appropriate medical care and documentation while employee is awaiting access to primary care provider.
• Surveillance & Health Monitoring Programs – Review medical surveillance program outcomes for employees exposed to occupational hazards (e.g., noise, chemicals, dust); provide immediate treatment as required.
• Health Counseling & Preventive Care – Provide workers with guidance on occupational health issues, lifestyle modifications, and prevention strategies; promote healthy workplace behaviors and injury prevention.
• Record all patient encounters and document appropriately.
• Report workplace injuries according to the client’s internal policies, and to the appropriate territorial/provincial bodies as required.
• Collaborate with client management and the broader TELUS team to drive improvements towards best practice and better health outcomes.
