Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health in West Vancouver, BC is seeking a Care/Activity Aide to support clients with personal care and to carry out recreation programs. You’ll collaborate with the team to develop and evaluate a therapeutic leisure program tailored to individual needs and implement program activities to promote well-being.

The role emphasizes flexibility as work hours may change and successful candidates may be asked to complete a Criminal Records Review.

Qualifications

Grade 12.
Graduation from a recognized Home Support Worker/Resident Care Aide program.
Successful completion of an Activity Assistant Program from a recognized college, one year recent experience working with a physically and/or mentally frail adult population including recent experience working as resident care aide/home support worker with personal care or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
Valid Class V Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to clients with personal care.
Carry out established recreation programs.
Collaborate with the team to develop and evaluate the therapeutic leisure and recreation program to meet client needs.
Implement and participate in established activities of the therapeutic leisure and recreation program.
