Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program.
  • Experience in a senior's focused recreation department an asset.
  • Basic First Aid Certificate (Current).
  • Food Safe Course or equivalent (Current).
  • Proof of COVID vaccination.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Carries out established recreation programs such as outings and games.
  • Assists residents to and from programs as required.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes in residents.
  • Ensures recreational equipment is maintained and safe.
  • Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
  • Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
  • Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.

We are looking for Certified Recreation Assistant/Activity Aide to join our team.

Shifts: 9:30am-5.30pm Thursday - Monday

What does an Activity Aide do?
  • Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
  • Assists residents to and from programs as required.
  • Assists, encourages and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
  • Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
  • Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
  • Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program
  • Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset
  • Proficient written, verbal and electronic communication in English
  • Demonstrate competent computer skills
  • Exceptional inter-personal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic First Aid Certificate (Current).
