Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health in Brandon is seeking a Capital Planning Assistant to coordinate the design and review of civil, mechanical and electrical building systems within the Capital Planning Services Department.

The role involves drafting updates in Architectural Desktop 2018, organizing files, assisting a summer student, and performing minutes and meetings coordination with confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education (MB Standards).
• Experience in Architectural drafting relative to AutoCAD Architectural Desktop 2018.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications.
• Understanding of basic construction standards, processes and the physical operations of large facilities.
• Experience in Microsoft Project.
• Experience in electronic staff scheduling software.
• Experience in financial accounting related to budgets.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in coordination, organization and minute taking for meetings.
• Accurate keyboarding skills, with minimum 50 wpm.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures.
• Ability to display independent judgment.
• Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
• Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Types correspondence, memos, reports, specifications, financial statements, charts etc.
• Creates and updates existing drawings on Architectural Desktop 2018.
• Works with a summer student.
• Organizes filing systems, including drawings, specifications, and all construction correspondence.
• Arranges meetings and appointments, takes minutes at meetings as required.
• Maintains various financial files related to ongoing construction and projects.
• Maintains appropriate and up-to-date computer programs for the Capital Planning Services Department.
• Other duties as assigned.
