Job summary

Miller Thomson LLP is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in any of our offices. You will independently administer biweekly full-cycle Canadian payroll for salaried and hourly employees, ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation including Quebec, and lead year-end activities with reporting and reconciliation.

We expect at least 5 years of Canadian payroll experience, Dayforce proficiency, and strong knowledge of Quebec payroll requirements.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian payroll experience.
• National Payroll Institute PCP or PLP designation strongly preferred; Dayforce experience is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Independently administer biweekly full-cycle Canadian payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation across multiple provinces including Quebec.
• Lead year-end payroll activities and related reporting; reconcile payroll to general ledger.
• Ensure data integrity across payroll, time & attendance, benefits, and financial systems.
• Provide professional employee support and guidance on pay statements and deductions.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
