Job summary

Miller Thomson LLP is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end Canadian payroll for salaried and hourly staff across multiple provinces from our Toronto offices.

You will ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation, oversee year-end activities, and support data integrity in Dayforce while delivering exceptional employee service and confidentiality in a dynamic national law firm environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in HR, Payroll, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive Canadian payroll experience.
• Dayforce experience is a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian provincial payroll legislation including Quebec.

Responsibilities

• Independently administer biweekly full-cycle Canadian payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation across multiple provinces including Quebec.
• Lead year-end payroll activities and prepare T4/RL-1/T4A and related filings.
• Maintain payroll system data integrity within Dayforce and related systems.
• Provide responsive employee payroll support with confidentiality and accuracy.
