Position Summary: A Self-Checkout Attendant assists customers in processing transactions through the self-service area(s) and provides exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and drive customer loyalty, while maintaining exemplary customer service by adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Wal-Mart.

What You'll Do:

1. Keep the area neat, clean, and organized, free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
2. Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, when applicable.
3. Promote company sponsor programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
4. Observe customer activities to determine when and if assistance is needed.
5. Politely explain reasons for interventions or quality checks during self-service operations, reassuring customers that such checks are normal protocol.
6. Respond to EAS alarms and fill out the "Failure to Deactivate" Log as needed.
7. Call the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area is low on cash or has a technical issue.
8. Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated area after use.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Age 16 or older.
