Job description

Position Summary...

A Self-Checkout Attendant assists customers in processing transactions through the self-service area(s) and provides exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and foster customer loyalty, while maintaining high standards of customer service by adhering to Wal-Mart's Basic Beliefs and values.

What you'll do...
  1. Keep the area neat, clean, and organized, free of fixtures, debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
  2. Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, when applicable.
  3. Promote company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
  4. Observe customer activities to determine when assistance is needed.
  5. Politely explain reasons for interventions or quality checks during self-service transactions, reassuring customers that these are normal protocol.
  6. Respond to EAS alarms and complete the "Failure to Deactivate" Log as needed.
  7. Call the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area is low on cash or has technical issues.
  8. Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated location after use.
