Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a part-time General Merchandise role in Richmond Hill. You will assist leadership of General Merchandise areas, respond to inquiries, and develop associates through teaching and training while delivering high customer service and task completion.

Responsibilities include coordinating tasks, merchandising presentation, team huddles, and scheduling. You will support recruitment and growth conversations, with pay starting at CAD 20.85 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting customers, promoting products/services, locating merchandise, assisting purchases and resolving issues.
• Assists in directing task completion per priorities from General Merchandise Coach and Store Management; delegate and follow-up on daily tasks.
• Assess overall department presentation and merchandise displays; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain strong communication; lead daily Team Huddle, share updates, set goals, track productivity.
• Review schedules with People Lead; assign associates to support coverage across store areas.
• Tour areas with Coach to identify training opportunities and develop associates through teaching and feedback.
• Contribute to a safe, clean, hazard-free environment by adhering to policy and completing safety tasks.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and support Management.
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to support performance growth conversations and recruitment efforts.

Position Summary... Assists in the leadership of the General Merchandise areas and department processes, respond to problems and inquiries, and develop associates through teaching and training. Ensure a high level of customer service while ensuring task completion.

Plans and executes department activities based on workload and operational functions and assists on the salesfloor as required.

What You'll Do

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the General Merchandise Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Assesses the overall presentation of General Merchandise Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executing merchandising display changes where required.
• Ensures strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift and provide the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• Review completed schedules with People Lead. 6. Assign Associates to support with coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed
• Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management.
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring new associates.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $20.85.
