Job summary

Walmart Canada in Winnipeg is hiring a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver friendly customer service while maintaining shelves and display areas in the Deli and Bakery sections. You will assist with stocking, meal preparation, and customer assistance, ensuring food safety and accurate labeling.

The role involves operating rotisserie and bakery procedures, following thawing and baking guidelines, and upholding cold-chain standards and store policies to keep products appealing and compliant.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels
