Job summary

Walmart Canada in Hamilton is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service while maintaining and stocking the Bakery and Deli area. You will handle orders, prepare hot foods, and ensure products are properly signed, priced, and rotated.

You will follow cold chain standards, monitor temperatures, and adhere to food handling, labeling and shelf presentation guidelines. Starting wage is $18.05 per hour, with opportunities to grow within a large retailer.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
