Job summary

MacEwan University in Edmonton is seeking a Security Services Agent for full-time continuing employment in Campus Safety and Security Services. You will safeguard the campus, respond to alarms, manage access control, and assist in investigations while complying with policy and law.

The role requires a licensed Security Services background, First Aid certification, and physical fitness to perform patrols and potential confrontations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Government of Alberta licensed Security Services course.
• Current Standard First Aid certificate.
• Post-secondary education in related field is an asset.
• Two years’ experience as a licensed security services worker or equivalent customer service experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Responding to alarms and CCTV system issues.
• Provide information to staff, students, contractors, and visitors on request.
• Perform access control duties including door unlocks and building checks.
• Investigate reported incidents and document in incident management system.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols and respond to emergencies.
• Educate and mentor campus community on safety programs and issues.
