MaKami College is seeking a Campus Security Guard to maintain a safe, secure campus environment. You will patrol facilities and respond to emergencies to protect students, staff, and visitors.

Ideal candidates hold ABST, First Aid/CPR, and Alberta Security Licence, with 1–2 years of security experience and proficiency in MS Office. This on-site role supports a growing college focused on leadership and student success.

Qualifications

• ABST Certificate required.
• Standard First Aid, Level C CPR, and AED certification.
• Alberta Security License required.
• 1–2 years security or related field experience.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, facilities, and grounds to deter and detect security concerns.
• Promote appropriate behaviour and protect the welfare of students, faculty, and staff.
• Respond to emergencies, provide First Aid as required, and contact police or emergency services when necessary.
• Assist in coordinating and executing campus emergency plans.
• Investigate incidents and submit clear, accurate incident reports.
• Maintain a visible, professional presence on campus to support a safe learning environment.

The Campus Security Guard plays a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive campus environment. This position is responsible for patrolling campus facilities and grounds, observing and reporting incidents, and responding to emergencies to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings, facilities, and grounds to deter and detect security concerns


• Promote appropriate behaviour and protect the welfare of students, faculty, and staff


• Respond promptly to emergency situations, provide First Aid as required, and contact police or emergency services when necessary


• Assist in the coordination and execution of campus emergency plans


• Investigate incidents and submit clear, accurate, and timely incident reports


• Maintain a visible, professional presence on campus to support a safe learning environment

Education & Experience

• Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) Certificate and valid Alberta Security License (through Alberta Solicitor General)


• Standard First Aid, Level C CPR, and AED certification


• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in security or a related field


• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong report-writing ability


• Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations
