Job summary

Aramark at Saint Mary's University in Halifax is seeking a Team Lead to oversee two campus dining outlets (Tim Horton's and Starbucks) and support opening/operations while guiding staff through peak periods.

The hands-on leadership role involves managing workflow, coaching team members, ensuring service quality, and maintaining safety and cleanliness in a union environment with SEIU Local 2.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience working in hospitality industry required
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a leadership role, either as an individual contributor or people manager required
• Experience with POS systems and cash control procedures
• Skilled in prioritization of tasks and time management
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations
• Ability to adapt to changing environments

Responsibilities

• Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all guests
• Oversees the operation and personnel workflow in absence of the Supervisor/Manager
• Train and develop personnel as required
• May support inventory and ordering
• May perform outlet opening or closing
• May support with monthly location audits, (boards, First Aid Kits)
• May assist with weekly inventory as required
• May complete reports for occupational/non-occupational illness or injury
• Ensures cleanliness of operation
• Ensures adherence to franchise and company standards
• Ensures proper use, storage and handling of chemicals on-site
• Assists with any onsite promotions and advertising
• Balances cash float and verifies deposit and safe
• Handles customer service complaints with assistance from Manager/Supervisor
• Covering and ensuring breaks and lunches are given
• Perform other job duties as assigned
