Aramark is hiring full-time Food Service Supervisors to join Saint Mary's University in Halifax. You will supervise daily food service operations, manage staffing with the Manager, and control costs while ensuring food safety standards are met.

This role requires 3+ years of leadership and 1+ year of food service experience, plus strong organizational skills. A flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is often needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment, training, scheduling and shifts

• Supervise cash handling, deposits and till reconciliation
• Ensure HACCP and food safety standards are followed
• Resolve customer complaints with Manager escalation
• Maintain safety, health, wage and hour compliance
• Support Operational Excellence initiatives for food and labour
• Maintain a safe work environment for staff and customers

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations for the food service and operations on the floor
• Meet daily with the Manager to discuss operational and staffing concerns
• Supervise and direct food production planning, waste management and record keeping
• Proactively manage food and labour cost controls
• Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and filling shifts as needed
• Assist Manager with managing team performance
• Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, safe and verify deposits
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed
• Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary
• Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labor initiatives
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
• Follow all policies, rules and regulations relating to safety, health, wage and hour

Qualifications

• 1+ years' food services experience required
• Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards considered an asset
• Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Flexible schedule as some evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00.
