Job summary

University of Victoria Students’ Society is seeking a Campus Community Garden Outreach Officer who will manage social media, plan events, and engage volunteers. The role starts with 5–10 hours per week and offers flexible scheduling on a campus site.

The position is open to UVic undergraduate students, with experience in gardening or food security seen as a plus. Apply through UVSS channels; includes $19.70/hour with 5% vacation pay.

The Campus Community Garden is a student-funded affiliate group focused on food security & sovereignty. The goal of the garden is to grow and share food, education, and community. The Outreach Officer is often a first point of contact for new volunteers and gardeners, and is primarily responsible for the garden's social media, events & workshop planning, and tabling (such as during Clubs Days, Thunderfest, etc). Experience growing food and/or gardening is an asset but is not the focus of this position. Please see the full list of required & preferred qualifications in the job description.
