Job summary

Sobeys Plant in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Plant Buyer/Planner to coordinate production planning and purchasing across retail and public orders. The role requires manufacturing experience and strong analytical skills, with emphasis on scheduling, cost analysis, and inventory control.

Responsibilities include creating production orders, resolving past due orders daily, and driving continuous improvements in supply operations to maintain high customer service levels.

Qualifications

• A 4-year business degree or related field, or 5 years of related experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational skills with initiative and flexibility.
• Experience in production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and cost analysis.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
• Critical thinking, analytical and detail oriented, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Accounting Software.

• Foster good manufacturing practices and workplace safety.
• Create, and review production orders for both retail and public orders.
• Ensure all past due production/pack orders and purchase orders are resolved daily.
• Research and resolve all discrepancies on inventory stock transactions and bulk variances.
• Coordinates all cycle count activities.
• Monitor inventory needs for multiple divisions and public sale customers.
• Maintain a high level of customer service.
• Strive for continuous improvement in supply operations.
