Job summary

Prospect Point Café in Vancouver, part of Capilano Group, is seeking a hands-on Café & Ice Cream Attendant to craft espresso and tea drinks, serve ice cream, and keep the café spotless. You will follow HACCP standards and cash handling procedures while contributing to a vibrant guest experience at this West Coast destination.

The role requires prior food service experience and a current Serving It Right certificate.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; be welcoming and smile.
• Prepare espresso and tea-based beverages and prepare café items.
• Serve ice cream and maintain café cleanliness and organization.
• Follow proper food and cash handling procedures.
• Follow procedures in the Team Member Handbook and HACCP/food safety rules.

• Report stock levels and maintain storage and seating areas.
• Operate all food and beverage equipment safely.

Prospect Point Café is looking for an ahands-on, energetic Café & Ice Cream Attendant dedicated to creating experiences our guestsand team membersare amazed by. Witha sizable retail store, “grab and go” café, and WestCoast inspiredfull-servicerestaurant,there is never a dull day at this beautiful tourist destination. The Prospect Point Café & Ice Cream Attendant’s main duties include, but are not limited to, creating custom espresso and tea-based beverages, preparation of café food items, serving ice cream, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café, following proper food and cash handling procedures, and carrying out opening, mid-day or closing procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Greet Guests and contribute to a positive experience; be welcoming and smile
• Ensure all transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Replenish stock, maintain cleanliness of all food venues, guest seating area and food storage areas
• Operate all food and beverage equipment in a safe manner, including natural gas-powered equipment
• Communicate with Quick Service Supervisor regarding stock levels,
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment
• Follow all HAACP and Food Safe requirements
• Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
• Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
• Promote a safe work environment paying particular attention to food and drink safety
• Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
• Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
• Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes

Job Qualifications & Considerations

• Previous food service industry experience
• Must have current Serving It Right certificate
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
• Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences Guests are amazed by
• Strong communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset
• Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
• Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool

The wage for this role is $18.25 per hour plus gratuities. This role is a seasonal summer contract that will run until the beginning of October 2026.
