J.D. Barnes Limited is seeking a Survey Assistant to support the Party Chief in field work in Markham, Ontario. This full-time, on-site role involves preparing data, operating survey gear, and ensuring safety and accuracy on site.

The position offers on-site work, with training provided, and opportunities for growth within a leading geomatics firm that serves public and private sectors across Ontario and Quebec.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good mathematical abilities.
• Experience with land surveying and survey equipment is an asset.
• Familiarity working in Windows-based applications is an asset.
• Post secondary education in related field (surveying or engineering technology) is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate survey equipment including levels, Total Stations, Data collectors, GPS etc.
• Assist the Land Survey Party Chief with data preparation, measurements and calculations.
• Communicate problems, errors, questions and concerns to the Land Survey Party Chief.
• Inspect and maintain field equipment.
• Ensure a clean and orderly work environment.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety Policies and Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

J.D. Barnes Limited is searching for a Survey Assistant to join our team! As a Survey Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Party Chief in successfully completing the field work on assigned jobs in accordance with the industry regulations and J.D. Barnes Limited's procedures and technical standards. This is a full-time, on-site position, located in Markham. This job posting is for a vacant position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Job Details

• Expected Compensation Range: $41,600- $57,200, commensurate with skills, education, and experience
• Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
• Paid Overtime

This job takes place outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments and demands a certain degree of physical strength as you will be carrying equipment (Total Station, Level, Bars and Stakes) from site to site.

This is an entry level role and training will be provided.
