Job description

CAD Technologist

Location: Calgary or Edmonton office.

Compensation: The compensation range for this role is $31.00 to $55.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Responsibilities

• Assist multiple projects with increasing interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies, and clients.
• Prepare clear, accurate CAD drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D for stormwater, erosion and sediment control, municipal infrastructure, river and channel design.
• Build surfaces, alignments, profiles, sections, corridors, grading plans, and 3D models from survey data, LiDAR, and field inputs.
• Produce plan, profile, and cross-section drawings for design and construction packages.
• Interpret survey data, field notes, UAV imagery, and site photography to support design and as-built deliverables.
• Complete material take-offs to support quantity and cost estimates.
• Perform QA/QC on drawings. Keep work clean, consistent, and aligned with CAD standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, scientists, surveyors, and clients to keep projects moving.
• Help improve CAD standards, workflows, and efficiency.
• Share knowledge and support junior team members in a practical, team-first way.

Qualifications

• A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.
• At least 2 years of CAD or civil design experience, ideally in consulting.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Interest or experience in water resources, municipal, or environmental projects.
