We are excited to partner with Electec Engineering in their search for a CAD Technician to join their growing team in Bedford, NS.

Established in 1990, Electec Engineering Inc. is a design-oriented firm that prides themselves on delivering exceptional work to their clients, providing a full range of electrical and mechanical engineering services. Electec has completed thousands of projects throughout the Maritimes and across Canada.

Reporting to the senior engineers, the CAD Technician will assist in the preparation of design drawings and documentation for electrical building systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional to gain hands-on experience, develop technical drafting skills, and collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and designers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating and updating AutoCAD drawings for electrical systems in buildings, including layouts for power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and other low-voltage systems.
• Support the design team by organizing and maintaining drawing sets, documents, and project records.
• Prepare base plans and as-built drawings under the guidance of senior staff.
• Participate in internal design coordination meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
• Assist with site visits to gather field data and support documentation of construction progress.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to support project delivery and timelines.
  

Skills and Qualifications:

As the successful candidate, you are a recent graduate from an Electrical Engineering Technology or Architectural CAD program and have a strong interest in electrical building design. You are proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Revit is an asset. You are a strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. You demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced and supportive work environment.
