Job summary

Alstom in Mississauga is seeking a full-time Buyer to manage supplier selection, RFQs, and procurement projects. You will work across project management, quality, and engineering to drive supplier performance, ensure on-time delivery, and uphold Alstom’s ethics.

Fluency in French and English is valued in a global, collaborative environment. You’ll lead negotiations, support commodity strategies, and cultivate strong supplier relationships while operating in a matrix structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in sourcing or procurement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and launch RFQs with suppliers.
• Lead project negotiations and ensure QCDT objectives.
• Monitor procurement project evolution including FAI, awards, and product development.
• Ensure work package sheet commitments are met.
• Coordinate projects across all relevant functions.
• Ensure on-time delivery and quality, especially during ramp-up phases.
• Promote Alstom’s Code of Ethics and adhere to high ethical standards.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your sourcing and supplier management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and results-driven teammates.

You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our procurement projects and supplier partnerships. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including project management, quality, and engineering), coordinate procurement activities, and drive supplier performance improvements, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of managing the supplier selection process, but also support commodity strategies and foster strong supplier relationships.

We’ll look to you for:

Preparing and launching Requests for Quotation (RFQs) with suppliers

Leading project negotiations and ensuring compliance with quality, cost, delivery, and technical (QCDT) objectives

Monitoring procurement project evolution, including First Article Inspections (FAI), business awards, and product development

Ensuring work package sheet commitments are met

Coordinating projects across all relevant functions

Ensuring on-time delivery and quality, especially during ramp-up phases

Promoting Alstom’s Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
