Job summary

Alstom in Mississauga is seeking a full-time Buyer to apply sourcing and supplier-management expertise across procurement projects. You will coordinate with project management, quality and engineering teams to drive supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery.

You will manage supplier selection, support commodity strategies, and nurture relationships with global suppliers while upholding Alstom's Code of Ethics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in sourcing or procurement.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Results-driven with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Structured approach to task management.
• International mindset and adaptability to diverse cultures.
• Fluency in French and English (asset).

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier selection process and RFQs.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your sourcing and supplier management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and results-driven teammates.

You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our procurement projects and supplier partnerships. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including project management, quality, and engineering), coordinate procurement activities, and drive supplier performance improvements, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of managing the supplier selection process, but also support commodity strategies and foster strong supplier relationships.

We’ll look to you for:

• Preparing and launching Requests for Quotation (RFQs) with suppliers
• Leading project negotiations and ensuring compliance with quality, cost, delivery, and technical (QCDT) objectives
• Monitoring procurement project evolution, including First Article Inspections (FAI), business awards, and product development
• Ensuring work package sheet commitments are met
• Coordinating projects across all relevant functions
• Ensuring on-time delivery and quality, especially during ramp-up phases
• Promoting Alstom’s Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
