Job summary

Alstom in Saint-Bruno, Quebec, is seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team. You will lead supplier selection, negotiate contracts, and manage costs across design and manufacturing projects in rail transportation.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and design teams to secure commitments, monitor QCDT, and drive supplier performance improvements while building sustainable supplier relationships within a matrix organisation.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s in Purchasing/Business is a plus.
• 5 years of procurement experience in design and manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, team-oriented, customer-centric mindset.
• Ability to work in a matrix environment and drive results with autonomy.
• Proficiency in managing supplier relationships, conducting negotiations, and delivering fit-for-purpose solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full supplier selection process, including tender preparation and negotiations.
• Monitor procurement project QCDT and ensure compliance with work package commitments.
• Secure cost commitments by collaborating with costing and tender teams.
• Organize and lead Business Award processes using internal templates.
