Job summary

Alstom in Toronto is seeking a full-time Project Procurement Manager to apply procurement and project management expertise within the rail sector. You will collaborate with the Project Manager, Region, and Sub-System Managers to define and implement procurement strategies and ensure alignment with project goals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in purchasing, project management, engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, sourcing, engineering, or quality.
  • At least 5 years of experience in subcontracting.
  • Proficiency in contract management.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage sourcing activities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the Project Procurement Strategy in alignment with QCD commitments.
  • Collaborate to establish and share the Project Procurement Management Plan.
  • Ensure procurement strategies are understood and applied by stakeholders.
  • Manage buyers and collaborate with other PPMs to contribute to project success.
  • Organize procurement launch meetings with Project Manager and Sub-System Managers.
  • Monitor supplier progress and address challenges with corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with localization rates and financial requirements.
  • Oversee QCD performance reporting for procurement across subsystems.
  • Deploy and maintain tools like the ePMFU system.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and project management expertise in a dynamic and cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, driven, and innovative teammates.

You’ll ensure the proper contribution of procurement to the project’s goals and objectives while supporting the Project Manager, Region, and Sub-System Managers (SSMs). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as legal, engineering, and quality teams), define and implement procurement strategies, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of coordinating, consolidating, and securing sourcing activities for the project, but also ensuring compliance with procurement strategies and quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.

We’ll look to you for:
  • Defining and implementing the Project Procurement Strategy in alignment with QCD commitments.
  • Collaborating with the Procurement Platform Director to establish and share the Project Procurement Management Plan.
  • Ensuring procurement strategies are understood and applied by all stakeholders.
  • Managing buyers and collaborating with other Project Procurement Managers (PPMs) to contribute to the project’s success.
  • Organizing procurement launch meetings with key stakeholders, including the Project Manager and Sub-System Managers.
  • Monitoring supplier progress and addressing challenges with corrective measures.
  • Ensuring compliance with project-specific conditions, such as localization rates and financial requirements.
  • Overseeing QCD performance reporting for procurement across subsystems and components.
  • Deploying and maintaining tools like the electronic Parts Maturity Follow-Up (ePMFU) system.

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is$110,000 – $145,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
